Jesper “JW” Wexell, one of fnatic's most famous players, announced his retirement from the team after being on the bench for several months. JW played for fnatic for more than seven years, but now he has received free agent status and will be looking for options to continue his career.
JW was a member of fnatic from 2013 to 2021, with the exception of a short break when he played for GODSENT. With his participation, the team won three majors, and JW himself was included in the list of the 20 best players of the year three times. In total, fnatic won 22 major LAN events during this period. Saying goodbye to fnatic, Jesper thanked everyone who accompanied him along the way and especially noted several team members with whom he developed friendly relations.
In a post about his departure, the player spoke as follows: “I will work hard on my game, try to stream, and also play as many qualifiers as possible until I decide where to move next.” It's been an exciting journey, but everything comes to an end – and it’s time for me to start writing the next chapter.” JW is currently registered to compete in the IEM Winter Open Qualifier as a team under the tag GORILLAZ along with his former teammate Robin "flusha" Rönnqvist and several other e-sportsmen.
