The Kazakh esports organization AVANGAR on Wednesday, April 1, announced that it was disbanding its teams and ceasing participation in competitions. Now its management plans to concentrate on the development of e-sports clubs and arenas in the country. AVANGAR was created in 2017 and achieved success quite quickly. In 2019, the previous composition of AVANGAR in CS:GO took second place at StarLadder Berlin Major, and then won BLAST Pro Series Moscow. As a result, for some time the team found itself third in the world rankings. Soon after this, the composition was purchased by Virtus.Pro.
In January 2020, the team recruited a new squad of young Kazakh players under the leadership of coach Sergei “Imbt» Bezhanova. However, a month ago he left the project. The head of AVANGAR Yonggun Kim said that the decision to close was made because the organization does not have enough time and resources to train young players. He considers investments in the development of offline platforms more promising: AVANGAR has already organized several clubs and is currently building a cyber arena in the city of Nur-Sultan. In the near future, the organization does not plan to assemble its own team again, but wants to create a platform on which novice players can prove themselves.
