The Chinese company Weibo may soon present its CS:GO roster. This was reported by the information portal CSGO2ASIA. Currently, Weibo owns one of the most popular sites within China, which for users from this country largely replaces Facebook and Twitter. By the end of 2019, it had approximately 497 million active users.
CS:GO was released in China on the platform of publisher Perfect World in 2017, and since then the active player base has been constantly growing. Although Counter Strike: Global Offensive is not as popular as other games in Asia, Weibo seems to expect the number of players to continue to increase. Earlier this month, the company announced that it would host a CS:GO tournament called Weibo Cup 2020. The competition, which features sixteen invited teams vying for victory, is scheduled to end on May 24. This is one of the largest eSports events in Asia in recent times.
CSGO2ASIA reports that the new team will likely be based in Shanghai. It will include several players of Chinese origin who previously played in EHOME and Invictus Gaming, as well as Russian esportsman Egor “killmatic” Indonesian guard and player Jason "forsaken" Susanto.
