A German esports organization called PENTA, which stopped participating in Counter Strike: Global Offensive competitions in 2017 after dissolving its international roster, has decided to resume participation in matches, this time assembling a roster of local players. Until 2017, PENTA managed to participate in three majors and reached the playoffs twice. At different times Mikka “suNny” Kemppi, Kevin “HS” Tarn, Johannes «tabseN» Vodarz and other successful cybersportsmen.
For the past three years, PENTA has not participated in CS:GO matches, but has now decided to return by purchasing the roster of players who previously formed the core of the EURONICS team. Most of them have played mostly local matches and have little international experience. The head of PENTA, Andreas Schätzke, emphasized that once upon a time it was the first German team to reach the top 8 at a major. He expects that the new roster will allow PENTA to “return to its roots.” Team leader Christophe "red" Hinrichs said that in the near future they plan to concentrate on preparing for the upcoming German tournaments, as well as participating in ESEA Main.
