It seems that the developers of CS:GO don't really care about creating a New Year's mood. While it’s easy to choose Halloween-themed skins, there are few coloring pages in Christmas and New Year colors. The same goes for maps: most of them feature desert or simply summer locations. This is partly due to technical reasons: depicting snow requires a lot of technical resources, and player models will look too contrasty on white surfaces. While there are still a few winter maps in CS:GO, some of them are only playable in casual mode and not in competitive mode, and others were only playable as part of operations. Considering the extensive modding capabilities that CS:GO has, it is not surprising that the community has set about correcting this omission and has created many maps that you can have a great time playing on with friends on New Year's Eve.
