ESL referee talks about two new varieties of coaching bug

Mikhail Slowinski, who previously served as a referee at ESL matches, said that there may still be two types of “coaching bug” in the game. Last week, several coaches of top teams were forced to admit that they used a bug that allowed them to see a random place on the map, thus establishing the location of enemy players. Slowinski played a key role in discovering this cheat. Recently, he analyzed many match recordings, found a way to reproduce this bug and determined that many teams undoubtedly used it.

Slowinski believes that the discovery of this cheat has caused concern among many players right now. When competitions take place during a pandemic, players are under greater stress, prizes have increased greatly in recent years, and the temptation to use an exploit can be too great.

Now Slowinski said that the bug that was initially discussed has already been fixed in one of the patches. However, there may now be two more variations in the game. So far, he and his assistants have not yet been able to accurately determine how to activate the bug. However, several suspicious recordings of matches were found in which the observer was able to look around in the third person by rotating the camera around the player. Currently, the organization that protects fair play in eSports (ESIC) has announced a period when players can admit to using the bug. It will last until September 13.
