The Russian team EPG Family recently reached the playoffs of the ESL Pro League and is counting on a successful performance in the final part of the tournament. Its members include players who previously played under the Winstrike tag, but unilaterally broke off relations with the esports organization after it violated the terms of the contract. So far, she has not been able to find new partners for cooperation. Team coach Dmitry “hooch” Bogdanov gave an interview to HLTV, talking about the challenges that EPG Family has faced recently.
In particular, the e-sportsman mentioned that offers from organizations from the CIS disappointed him. He believes that many of them were trying to take advantage of the team's situation to force them into a deal on unfavorable terms. A few weeks ago, the ex-Winstrike roster was ready to announce that the team had found a “new home,” but the deal fell through at the last moment due to the fact that, as it turned out, the organization that offered it did not have the necessary budget.
However, hooch believes that performing without the support of an eSports organization made the team stronger: “We have nothing to lose, so we are just trying to have a great time and perform at our best.” The coach hopes that participation in the ESL Pro League playoffs will allow the team to attract attention and receive new offers from European organizations.
