Couriers are the one piece of Dota 2 cosmetics the whole lobby sees and the only one not tied to a hero: a single courier works in every game on every character. The catalog holds 167 entries across more than 1,300 listings, from thirteen cents to $1,079 — a wider spread than any hero has.

The most expensive couriers

Baby Roshan holds the top: the Genuine Ice version goes for $1,079 and Gingerbread for $937. These are collector copies from old events, and supply never grows. Behind them come Unusual couriers with effects: Frull at about $249, Oculopus at about $177, Baekho at about $130. The Nian Courier sits apart at around $138.

Plain versus Unusual

The same courier comes in a plain version and in Unusual, the latter carrying a built-in visual effect. The price gap is severalfold: a plain copy may cost a dollar while the Unusual version of the same courier costs tens. The model is identical and only the effect differs, so the choice is purely about budget.

How much couriers cost

Most couriers run from thirteen cents to a couple of dollars, which is enough to replace the default one. Couriers with effects start around ten dollars, and collector Baby Roshans reach hundreds and thousands. Dota 2 items have no float and no wear: rarity, effect and whether the courier is still issued set the price.

How to choose a courier

If you just want something other than the default, a plain courier for a dollar does the job. If you want it noticed, look at Unusual copies with an effect: it is the effect rather than the model that makes a courier stand out. Collector copies are bought for rarity, not for looks.
