A variety of agent images, skins and stickers for weapons allow everyone to create their own unique combination. But there is one more item that should not be ignored – These are weapon tags. They were added to the game in August 2013 and have since been very popular among players.
What are shortcuts?
Weapon tags (name tags) – These are relatively inexpensive items that allow you to change the name of an item (skin or default weapon) to any one you choose. One label costs about 100 rubles. You can use it only once, applying it to one selected item. If after this you decide to return the item to its standard name, the label will simply disappear.
Previously, shortcuts provided another additional function: they could use localization tags, which allowed you to add special characters to the name of the skin, as well as colored inscriptions, and in the language selected in the game interface. However, several years ago Valve closed this opportunity.
How to add and remove a shortcut
To change the name of a weapon using a name tag, you need to follow a simple sequence of actions: open your inventory, select the weapon you want to rename, and enter the new name. It must comply with the following rules:
&bul; be longer than 20 characters;
&bul; do not contain offensive statements;
&bul; do not contain special characters.
The set of valid characters that can be used includes the Latin alphabet and basic punctuation marks. In addition, you can use | to make your own skin name as similar to the “real” one as possible. The name will be shown in quotation marks in the inventory and in the purchase menu. A corresponding sign will appear on the weapon itself. In addition, the tag is retained when selling or exchanging an item.
How to remove a shortcut
If you are tired of the original skin name, removing it is very easy. To do this, select the “Rename” option. in the item menu, and then select the “Remove name” option. As we already mentioned, the tag will disappear irrevocably.
We should also mention the renaming of skins with the StatTrak function. Renaming or deleting a tag does not clear their statistics, but the words “StatTrak” will disappear from its name until the tag is deleted.
