This article will contain 2 lists of the top 10 strongest teams in Dota 2. The first will be formed based on objective indicators: statistics and ratings of current teams as of the beginning of 2023. Such a list of the best orgs will reflect the real balance of power in modern Dota 2 at the moment.
The second list will be compiled on the basis of subjective preferences, and will include teams that, for example, were spectacular a few years ago, but are now in decline. The most striking example of such a team – this is “Born to Win”. Here are some of the selection criteria used for the second list for the top 10 strongest teams in Dota 2:
Total number of trophies won.
The largest number of victories at The International and majors.
The largest amount of prize money raised by the organization in tournaments.
A consistently high level of play over many years years.
Rating calculation procedure
Let's start compiling a list of the best teams with the strongest at the moment. But before that, it is necessary to dwell in more detail on the rules used when calculating rating points, and, accordingly, when ranking clubs taking into account these points.
So, in order to track the current state of clubs and form the current top 10 strongest teams in Dota 2, the results are taken only for the last year. Two criteria are taken into account: achievements in doter competitions and the gaming form of gamers.
According to the first criterion (achievements in doter competitions), it is estimated how long ago the tournament was (the closer to the time of compiling the rating, the more points) and how highly it is rated (we believe there is no need to describe verbosely that Int is cooler than, for example, a passing tournament of the tier-2 level, and, therefore, for participation in Inte will be given more rating points).
The second criterion (game form of gamers) evaluates how successfully or unsuccessfully they perform in individual matches over the past 3 months. Moreover, the longer the “skating rinks” stand from the time the rating was compiled, the lower they are rated in points.
Top ten at the beginning of 2023 (part 1)
According to the rating indicator, today is the undisputed leader in the top 10 strongest teams in Dota 2 – This is the British team Tundra Esports, which is more than 200 points ahead of its closest pursuer, Team Liquid.
The team quickly rushed to the top, although the five players were assembled only in January 2021. In principle, today's leadership of Tundra Esports can only be explained by the victory at last year's International, since it cannot be said that the organization regularly wins (it has played 24 tournaments since its founding, in which it won only 3 victories).
Team Liquid is in second place in the top 10 strongest teams in Dota 2. They completed 2022 with a bang, taking bronze at Int and completing an unbeaten streak of 7 matches, which allowed them to soar so high in the rankings.
Team Spirit closes the top three, who, despite the failure at the last International, performed well summer 2022, taking home the Arlington Major and silver in Saudi Arabia. Judging by the fact that the team won 6 of the last 7 matches, the organization is back on top and ready for new achievements.
Top ten at the beginning of 2023 (part 2)
Team Secret takes fourth place in the top 10 strongest teams in Dota 2. Yes, Puppey continues to rock and keep his team at a high level for 9 years now. In 2022, the team did not win anything serious, but almost always reached the top places, which allowed them to gain a lot of rating points. Tim Secret – a unique team because:
Participated in all Ints since 2014.
Has the highest percentage of winnings over a period of 100 games – 85 wins.
In fifth place is Beastcoast – a Peruvian team whose strength lies in the amazing cohesion of its players. Last year, the organization consistently ranked in the top eight, including Int and Majors. In addition, the end of the 2022 team passed without defeats in individual matches. Well-deserved fifth place in the top 10 strongest teams in Dota 2.
Sixth place – at Team Aster. The first Chinese in our ranking. In general, China, of course, was a little deflated in 2022 after a very vigorous onslaught on the Europeans and Americans.
Nevertheless, Orga Aster – the only one among the Chinese teams that performed well last year at the Int (4th place) and the Arlington Major (3rd place).

Lucky seven goes to Evil Geniuses (EG). The curse of third places, which began in 2016 – 2019, it has worsened: now EG reaches the top three in major tournaments even less often, although it continues to consistently take lower-rank competitions.
It is surprising that the Philippine five Execration got to eighth place. They, of course, play very well at tournaments in Southeast Asia and win a lot, but last year they were not at the Inter and Majors.
In ninth place in the top 10 strongest teams in Dota 2 is the famous OG. Tima performed well in 2022, taking home ESL tournaments in Stockholm and Malaysia, but she greatly missed the end of the season, losing a lot of matches.
We close the top 10 strongest teams in Dota 2 at the beginning of 2023 with the Shopify Rebellion team. Orga appeared at the end of 2022 and immediately took a slot for the major in Lima.

And now let’s move on to the most interesting thing: compiling a list of organizations that left a special mark in the hearts of fans and in the history of the game.
Since Dota 2 – This is a sport where victories are important first of all, then in terms of won tournaments of any category, Navi is still unrivaled. No one has surpassed their result of 38 first places, although EG and Tim Sekret are literally breathing in their backs. But three killer years of Navi (2011 - 2013) gave them a gigantic head start and left them remembered as a car that drove like a roller against all its competitors. That is why Navi – the best organization in the top 10 strongest teams in Dota 2. And yes, three Int finals in a row with one victory are also worth something.
In second place, of course, is OG. And the argument here is very simple: not a single team has ever won two Ints, much less in a row (2018 & ndash; 2019), simultaneously grabbing the titles of 4 triumphant so-called “real” ones. majors, i.e. conducted under the auspices of Valve.

Evil Geniuses legitimately claim third place and for this reason. The organization has the maximum number of prize places in all tournaments – 104. This means that EG is able to maintain a top level of performance for a long time, and the class of the team lies precisely in playing smoothly and without slumps. Definitely deserves to be in the top 10 strongest teams in Dota 2.
Fourth place, in our opinion, rightfully goes to Team Secret. Puppey's intricate strategies, compared to the Dutch total football of the 70s of the 20th century, brought the organization many victories, among which one is missing, but the most important one - The International. And therefore the Secret is only fourth.
The top five is closed by Team Liquid with the divine 2017 and the no less divine Miracle-, who is sometimes called the Messi of the Dota world for his ability to play Invoker. The main feature of “liquid” - the ability to play beautifully, but at the same time effectively, brought them the aegis at Int 2017 and a place in our list of the top 10 strongest teams in Dota 2.

Sixth place – Alliance from 2013, which sensationally defeated Navi on Int and other top teams largely due to the meticulous development of the game plan.
Seventh place goes to representatives of China, namely Wings Gaming. They had one powerful surge of beautiful and high-quality play in 2016, when they took several tournaments + International, but then they crumbled and no longer claim high places.
Eighth place – another Chinese from Vici Gaming, who took 2 majors in 2019 and had an excellent series, not falling below eighth place during the season. Orga, unfortunately, remained a team of the same year, but, nevertheless, got into our top 10 strongest teams in Dota 2.
We’ll give ninth place to Virtus.pro. Of course, the team knew how to evoke emotions, for example, giving Dota fans a powerful fight with OG during the final of the Kyiv Major. But the inability to achieve results in decisive matches, with the exception of the final of the Hamburg Major, does not allow Virtus.Pro to be ranked at least among the top five coolest teams.
The Chinese team LGD closes the top ten. The guys knew how to make noise and play cool, but at the same time, being favorites, they lost two Int finals to their opponents.
